Patna Records Significant Increase in Covid-19 Vaccination Rates
Patna has emerged as a model of success in India's Covid-19 vaccination campaign, achieving remarkable milestones that have set benchmarks for other regions. The city's innovative strategies and community-driven efforts have significantly boosted vaccination rates, contributing to Bihar's overall progress in combating the pandemic. Strategic Initiatives and Record-Breaking Achievements
Patna's approach included the establishment of 24x7 vaccination mega camps at key locations such as Patliputra Colony, Hotel Patliputra Ashok, and Patliputra Stadium. These centers operated round the clock, accommodating the schedules of working individuals and ensuring wider accessibility. On August 7, Patna administered 136,560 doses in a single day, ranking fifth among Indian districts for daily vaccinations. Later, on October 2, a mega camp facilitated the administration of 201,142 doses, making Patna the second district in Bihar after East Champaran to vaccinate over 200,000 people in a day Community Engagement and Operational Excellence
The success of Patna's vaccination drive was largely attributed to its community engagement strategies. The district mobilized over 50,000 personnel across 15,000 vaccination sites, ensuring efficient coverage. Special attention was given to urban and rural populations, with 76% of the urban population receiving the first dose and 58% receiving the second dose by October. This was significantly higher than the state average of 64% for the first dose and 28% for the second.
